Mahone had a barn on his quarter section
in there he had a still tuned to perfection
the booze he made was satisfaction
and he guarded the door with his old pump action.

Mama was his lady; she's a feisty Texan.
She rocks it on the porch with her dog Sylvester,
hollars for her whiskey like an ol' Sou'Western
and greases her throat with Mahone's best kettle.

There's sunshine in the valley
and moonshine in the barn
it's single malt and double barrel
on Mahone and Mama's farm.

His neighbour got the notion for some confiscation
so he hopped across the fence to make his infiltration.
He snuck up to the barn to assess the situation
but Mahone raised both barrels and said
'we've got a confrontation.

If you want my whiskey there's none that you'll be having.'
But his neighbour had a Tommy gun and started into braggin',
'I'll pump you full of lead, Mahone, and back up my wagon.'
But Mama was behind him and she decked him with a flagon.
